Beeboard ("we", "our", "us") is a climbing training app that helps you track problems, build circuits, and manage sessions on your wall. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Data We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account data — email address, username, first name, and last name when you create an account.
  • Profile data — profile photo and visibility preferences you choose to set.
  • Climbing activity — ascents, attempts, repeats, session logs, notes, circuit completions, and training statistics you record in the app.
  • Gym association — which gyms and walls you use, visit counts, and your favorite gym.
  • Photos — images of walls and problems you upload.
  • Social data — users you follow, problem lists you create or subscribe to, and tags you use.

Information collected automatically

  • Location — GPS coordinates (only while the app is in use) to detect which gym you are at. We do not track your location in the background.
  • Crash reports — anonymous error logs and stack traces via Firebase Crashlytics, collected only in release builds to help us fix bugs.
  • Device connection data — Bluetooth and local network information used solely to connect to LED wall controllers. This data is not stored or transmitted.

Information we do not collect

  • We do not collect advertising identifiers.
  • We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.
  • We do not collect payment information (there are no in-app purchases processed through the app).
  • We do not collect browsing history, search history, or analytics about how you navigate the app.

2. Why We Collect Your Data

  • Core functionality — to let you track climbs, build circuits, log sessions, and manage your wall.
  • Gym detection — to automatically identify which gym you are climbing at based on your location.
  • Social features — to let you follow other climbers, share sessions, and participate in leaderboards.
  • LED integration — to connect to your wall's LED controller via Bluetooth or local network.
  • Stability — to diagnose and fix crashes and errors via crash reports.
  • Statistics — to calculate your climbing analytics, achievements, and progress over time.

3. Device Permissions

The app may request the following permissions. You can deny or revoke any of these in your device settings.
